BA scraps sandwiches

British Airways is to stop its in-flight meal service for short-haul flights in an attempt to save €25 million a year. The airline said it was scrapping the sandwich or full meal served on flights of less than two and a half hours after 10am but would continue to serve complimentary snacks and drinks.

Aer Lingus has increased its hand-baggage limit from 6kg to 10kg. Additional small items, such as cameras, personal stereos, overcoats, handbags and laptops in their cases, can also be carried on board.

No change in holiday fun

A survey of over-45s has found surprising similarities between what people enjoy at that age compared with before they had children.

The top answer in the Jet2Holidays.com survey was “exploring the holiday destination” (61 per cent), replicating responses from earlier in their lives (59 per cent). This was followed in both cases by “chilling out”, “drinking lots of alcohol” and “adventure sports”.
